Shout out to Harley and the Sled Dog Liquor and grocery. Up in Danali with wife during fires and National Park closure. At highway with crowd due to no railroad service (at least busses to rescue). Harley and the joint with
generator had provisions and even a working ATM machine. And no price gauging. Sign says reasonable prices - I fully endorse that along with them having the best staff. Our salvation in tough condions. THE BEST.

This place is kind of dirty and has a small selection of some things that you might need while in the area. The prices are really high for the items but unfortunately that is how all of the small stores are in the wilderness areas of Alaska.

This is a convenient food truck/convenience store along the highway coming to or from Fairbanks. You order inside the store and pick up outside.. The service and the prices are great! They have a simple menu that has some good variety. Yet, the food is lackluster and in need of seasoning.

There isn't much open at Glitter Gulch, even the traffic lights have been turned off. Getting take away from the food truck at the liquor store looked to be one of the better options. We had fish tacos and carne asada tacos. We just moved from San Antonio, TX, and the carne asada tacos would have stood up there. Not so much with the fish tacos. Also had a side of rice and beans which were quite good. In all, it was a good choice. I'd avoid the fish tacos, but everything else was quite good.

The red food truck used to be worth stopping for but I won’t be stopping here again for anything. The tacos ordered were dry with minimal ingredients, no salsa to help the dry corn tortillas that were not heated with any oil to make them soft and pliable. Very disappointing and they initially did not get my order correct and I had to wait extra time.

Granted things in general are expensive in Alaska and especially around a tourist destination.

However, this place is hugely overpriced even for the Alaska & a tourist destination.

If you have a car it’s worth driving about 10 minutes down the road to the Ace Hardware/ grocery store. I get it’s convenient to the area.

I needed some distilled water- it $4 for a gallon. I looked at buying a 24 pack of Diet Cokes - they were $28 - wow - I passed. We drove down to the Ace and it was $15

Convenient but extremely overpriced.

Go up
