I purchased a clear bag for the Bama/Georgia game for $78 (before tax). It broke during the game. I was told (to paraphrase) “too bad, sorry.” I have been a customer at the Lee Branch location for years and this is not the first time I have had a new purse break. It is unfortunate the quality of items seems to be poor and getting worse. Shop here knowing you may only be able to wear or use the item once. In my case, not even once. Please purchase knowing the business will not stand behind anything they sell once you have paid and out of their front door.

I had ordered a dress from this boutique for my graduation and I wanted to make a return for website credit which they offer. On their website it says they make you pay for returns which was completely fine with me. I went to UPS to make the return and they told me that my return was going to cost $43.00 to return a dress that did not even weigh a pound when they weighed it on the scale and i reused the original packaging. I do not recommend ordering online from here. I usually don’t write reviews, but charging your customers an outrageous price to send you back an item for not even a refund, but for store credit is outrageous.

I never leave reviews, BUT I will gladly leave this one. Every purchase we have had here has been negative. Their return policy is ridiculous. Even when we have gifted items to others at Christmas, they have not let returns happen. I understand having a strict return policy, but theirs is too strict. You can’t return things in store if you buy online or to different locations. For example, I was gifted something at Christmas that was bought online but they would not let me return because I was trying to return to the Montgomery location. They simply told me to “maybe try selling it on Facebook marketplace”. Speaking of the Montgomery location, one employ there has always been rude and has no personality. A recent experience in Birmingham made us finally decide we are completely done giving our business to South. Beside the register there were tiny and sweet looking necklace’s we decided to buy for a 12 year old girl. The rack of necklace’s were free standing and had no pricing. We asked what the price was and the cashier simply said “six ninety” … assuming $6.90 since it was a small cheaper looking necklace. But no ma’am, it was $690 dollars. Checks out, since everything in this store is over priced for absolutely no reason. My mother can’t see well so she didn’t know until she got home the exact price. Since then, she has called the store multiple times to figure out how to get her money back for this overpriced item. Although the store is open with their normal business hours, they have not answered over the last week to be able to help us resolve this issue.

The South Boutique at Lee Branch off Doug Baker Blvd in B’ham is the bomb!
The staff is so friendly and helpful and the store manager Savannah Franklin, is a delight to work with.
I am not the most delightful shopper but Ms Savannah has the patience of a saint!
She is very knowledgeable and professional!
Highly recommend her!

My 12 year old daughter loves shopping at the Birmingham location of South! The clothes are so cute. The staff is also great especially Savannah! We have always left there happy customers!

This store and Miss Franklin are AMAZING!!! Every time I go in there the store is always so clean and organized. I love how Miss Franklin has the clothes coordinated by color!!! She is always so helpful!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my steer head!!

I was very disappointed at the lack of costumer services exhibited by the employees here. I brought in an item that had only been used once that had already broken. The ladies behind the counter said how once it leaves the store it was no longer their responsibility. I explained how I had just gotten in and it had already broken. They said, "well that item was on sale anyways." I was amazed by the behavior they exhibited, and do not plan on going back.
