Sunset Marine is great. I’ve been going to them for parts for the last couple years and just recently had them replace my outdrive. They scheduled me, took the boat and by end of day I had an answer. They gave me a few options and told me when they could have it done. They were on time, honest and communicate well. I’m going to use them again and I recommend you do to. Great customer service, knowledgeable and the bathroom is clean. Enjoy!

Not a good one, my friend recommended this place to fix a lower unit for 2016 200hp Evinrude Etec. First time they issued a refurbished unit, the technician forgot to install thrust washer which ended up getting towed back to shore (over 10 miles offshore) due to prop shaft being disengaged. It took a month to get something back but this time they got it right, no play on the prop but now another issue, the prop end up top part of lower unit that damage the prop and anode trim tab above it. We paid over 2 k including a labor charge $280 for a suppose to be 3 year warranty. I’ve never heard of a warranty that cost anything more especially for a returned item. I don’t think we received the correct unit here in the beginning. Please reach out to Kevin Tamminga and he will explain everything to your manager if you care about your customers.

No reply or apology on negative review? I see how it is, you got your $$$. Oh by the way, you didn’t return our upper drive shaft/shift rod and bearing housing assembly. Did you made money there too?

I contacted Sunset Marine through their website and received an immediate response. They scheduled my boat for repair well within an acceptable time. My motor was having idling issues. The repairs were made by Rafael and he gladly produced the failed parts and he explained the idling problem. I dropped the boat off on Wednesday and picked it up on Friday that same week. Fast turnaround! I took the boat to the lake the following week to see how well it would perform. To my happiness, it worked quite well. No more idling or starting problems. Rafael did a wonderful job repairing the mechanical fuel pump! I trust Sunset Marine with taking care of my boat! After many years of use, I'm still satisfied with them installing my hydraulic steering!

These guys at Sunset Marine have done a few repairs for me over the years on my 2001, 25hp Johnson outboard. Each time they have gone beyond what I expected in their quality of work, professionalism and communication with their customers!

Cost and quick turnaround was something that has always surprised me at this shop!

I had taken my motor to another shop who could not fix my motor 3-times and came up with many excuses why it was breaking down. Took it here and was fixed and running 2days later!

I really not a guy who does reviews on a business, but these guys got one from me, only because they truly deserved it!

I called and got an appointment quickly. I took my boat in for service at 11 am. I got a call back at 1 pm about my boat and additional items that needed attention. I gave my approval for the repairs. I got a call the next day that my boat was ready for pickup. I was surprised it was done so quickly. Don’t waste your time taking your boat anywhere else to be worked on in San Diego, go to Sunset Marine. Honest, fair, friendly, down to earth people that want to help you get back on the water. Shout out to Josh and Joey who helped me get my boat tuned up. Shops like Sunset are few and fair between, check them out!
