The staff is very friendly and helpful. It helps to have an appointment. I had an 8:15 appointment for renewal. I checked in online 30 minutes before then waited outside the building. At 8am staff comes out to separate the lines between appointments and walk ins. After verifying appointments at the door I walked in to take a seat. (I already printed and filled out a application before arriving). After about 5 minutes I was called to a window and out the door by 8:20! The only con is this place has a tiny parking lot.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Elsa (ER31648) at the Columbus Driver License Office! She was incredibly kind, helpful, and made the entire process super smooth for my husband. She explained everything clearly, was very patient, and made us feel comfortable the whole time. Honestly, she’s a total sweetheart and a true professional. Thank you, Elsa, for making what could have been a stressful visit so easy and pleasant!

⚠️ DPS (all): “Online check-in” should not be activated unless you’re inside the building. To ensure you are marked present, stand in line to check in. The system is not yet advanced enough to be useful. It creates more problems and time wasted as it “functions” now. Obviously, don’t rely on your appointment time and preparation to expedite this experience. 🦥

I don’t know if all the reviews are bots. I had an appointment at another location today but, because of the weather and traffic I couldn’t make it. I showed up to this location as a walk in. They had maybe a dozen other customers at the max. They told me that I had to reschedule or go to the other location. This is ridiculous. The parking lot is almost empty. People have become lazy. I would never refer this location to anyone. To understand this location better. I sat in the parking lot for about another 30 to 45 minutes and physically watched other customers going in and out and by the time I left there was only six maybe seven cars in the parking lot. I also have a picture below to show that the lot has empty parking spaces. This is not including the ones to the left where there is about six parking spots that was empty.
