I've lived in 3 states and have driven through 13. TxDOT is the worst road maintenance I've ever seen. They take up as much room as they can, shutting down as much as possible, doing huge unmanageable projects during the worst times possible being clueless as to the people who use their roads.
As well, they never do anything right. Who ever runs this system needs to retire and let someone lese try.
The only reason I give 2 stars is for the actual people out there working in the sun. Thank you

Expect 2 ladies at the front door who will give you a card and tell you to make an appointment. They will also be unable to answer a single question beyond that, and they will give you a bunch of additude. 💅

Let’s get into it. Texas highways ect. are always under construction it’s never ending. When they are “working or repairing” highways, or roads they do not complete one phase much less even do it correctly. So many men standing around, doing nothing. (The “foreman(s)” are a joke)..Or putting cones closing a lane about five miles back when no work is being done at all in that area, and when you reach the point ahead of “road work” it’s just one spot they are all standing at, sitting at or just looking at it…. so backing up traffic for miles for nothing. The curves are done badly, the hits from a bad job or hole they left on purpose bend the rims of cars and throw off alignments. They do not clean up after themselves leaving so much rocks and debri you can kiss your windshield goodbye. A CDL is all that is needed to use these tax paid equipment and they have no common sense they all need their certs checked ASAP. The concrete barriers are all off not aligned at all causing so many accidents and lives. The water build up next to these barriers cause many accidents and where there should be barriers there are none and people end up in water created by these “projects” Such a shame but I will update this review as I further investigate the monies, certs, ect. because this is causing so much costs in damages and insurance claims due to their negligence.

I think text is doing a horrible job of traffic control in the state of Texas it's pathetic it's one of the most backwards traffic systems I have ever seen in my life. They just do things backwards. It's a very low tech .. text Dot needs to get out of the Stone age and modernize the traffic system within the state it's too dangerous and unproductive as far as the economy goes and everything else. The current system they have makes traffic far worse than it could be because of their low low tech approach!

Just curious, will the one lane widening act for Hwy 290 West ever be completed?
Everyday since the additional "lanes" were opened they've been closed just as many, so that all traffic gets funneled to the shoulder. Worse yet, any attempts to escape the disaster are foiled because the feeders are all blockaded too. With not a workman in site. This has gone on day after day in the same spot as people try to get in and out of town to work. It is both a travesty and a joke. The section near Fairfield subdivision outbound has yet to be touched, so there are 3 lanes, choked down to 2 lanes, opened back up to 4 lanes. Maybe another 3 to 4 years and countless Highway closings and then maybe that'll be done, (nice and bumpy just like the rest of it)? Maybe then it can closed up again to slice the concrete up so it holds twice the water when wet, and destroys tires when dry. And now after all the accidents, time and money wasted it isn't even enough for today's traffic, much less when it populates, at which point it'll either be impossible to widen further, or will cost so much no one can afford.

Since the concrete was put down on Highway 6 North I am sure it has cut down on the amount of car accidents. However, I believe the traffic lights need to have their timing changed. There is always a long back up in the morning going South and in the evenings going North. It is a really bad thing and I hope the timing can be changed to clear up the jams. Thank you.
