I regularly visit this place located in the Breakers in Palm Beach, and while the setting is absolutely stunning, my experience with the coffee continues to be a disappointment. The café is set in a beautiful garden, surrounded by lush greenery and offering serene views that provide the perfect backdrop for a relaxing break. The entire atmosphere is luxurious, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create an upscale experience.

That being said, the coffee is consistently awful—some of the worst I’ve had. It’s flat, unbalanced, and lacking the richness you’d expect from a high-end location like this. Despite this, I keep coming back, as the breathtaking garden and views make it easy to overlook the bad coffee. They also serve the most delicious almond croissants, which are a real treat and keep me coming back for more. So, even though the coffee doesn’t live up to expectations, the beautiful setting and tasty pastries make this spot one I return to often. If you’re after a peaceful, picturesque place to relax with a great pastry, this café is perfect—just don’t expect top-notch coffee.

While touring the Breakers, my friend and I stopped in to get a muffin and croissant. Abigail took our order and was very friendly and kind. Even when the bird stole my friend’s chocolate croissant, she replaced it!! The croissants are made fresh daily in baker on site. My friend said they were the best ever and she has traveled all over the world. My muffin was okay. It should have cooked a little longer because tasted like dough somewhat in middle. The prices are reasonable; croissant $7.50 and muffin around $4.50.

The shop is filled with all totes of gifts and whatnots. We sat in the palm courtyard in chairs that rock.

I highly recommend visiting this location to have coffee, express, croissant etc and enjoy the beautiful courtyard BUT be careful of the birds that are highly skilled in obtaining your food! 🤣

Consistently fast service, regardless of the crowd size, is definitely a standout feature of this establishment. While the salads are good, the real highlights are the smoothies and cupcakes—simply amazing. The staff members are incredibly friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious smoothies, cupcakes, and friendly service.

The Place is stunning! Coffee is the best but unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience with a girl that work here, her name is Star she is not polite, no education, very arrogant, bad face, a person like her should never work in a place like this. Thank for Melissa, she is the best! Polite and always with a smile on her face!

Hands down, this is the best breakfast sandwich in South Florida. And at $10, it's an incredibly reasonable price for such a luxurious location. The coffee drinks are also amazing. They must be using some high end beans.

News and Gourmet is located inside the Breakers Hotel of Palm Beach. This is the perfect place to get coffee or tea, ice cream, water, gifts, souvenirs and other essentials. Buy one of the many newspapers available and relax at the several outside tables and chairs and enjoy your coffee or tea.
