Just took my stepdaughter to the dressing room to find a prom dress. (I plan ahead haha)
If I could give 10 stars I would! Great selection, most of them very affordable ($99-189) and Christine (sp?) was SO helpful and attentive. She knew immediately if dresses were offered in other colors, details about the designers they carry, and quite a bit about what can be done with alterations. And whatever she didn’t know she quickly found the answer to online.
Christine did say that it can get very busy in there, especially on Saturdays. So if you can get there on a weekday it’s better. You can also schedule an appointment.
Now that Mia Bella closed, this is my go to place for formal dresses. Don’t be fooled by the outside - very clean, large, and well kept store. Don’t wait until the last minute - go to the Dressing Room for your prom dress! Happy shopping 😊

We had a wonderful experience! Amy is so kind and helpful and we founds some truly beautiful gowns. The shopfront seems inconspicuous at first but once inside, you are in for a great experience. They are a hidden gem of the formal dress scene in San Diego

First time customer here. I came in today to get my 18‐year‐old a prom dress and every part of the experience was beyond expectations. The shop was clean and organized. The dressing rooms were beautiful. The selection of dresses was incredibly varied, despite the store being rather small. Many of the dresses could be ordered in a multitude of colors with very inclusive sizing.

Amy, our stylist, was friendly and knowledgeable. She continually checked in on my daughter and her commentary was actually helpful! She was not afraid to say that a color didn't suit my daughter's skin tone, and that kind of honesty is invaluable. It was great to have someone there every step of the way.

As for the pricing, there were many affordable options on the racks. Unfortunately, my daughter has expensive tastes, but even then the dress "only" ran us $400. We never would have been able to find something so nice for that price at Prevue.

After years of digging through Windsor and praying to find a dress small enough to fit my girl, I'm genuinely upset that I didn't find out about this shop until her last dance! If we ever need a formal dress again, I'm coming back without hesitation. Thank you so much for helping us today!

I wish I could give this store 10 stars! I recently got married and had the absolute worst experience with a brand called Portia and Scarlett for my bridesmaid dresses. Long story short, I researched a bunch of stores in the USA who carried them and came across The Dressing Room. For months, Amy and I went back and forth and she helped me out as much as she could to resolve my issues with the company, even though I didn't order the dresses from her. Not only did she contact the company for me, but she went above and beyond to make sure they knew how truly unhappy I was and let them know that they need to make sure they fix this for me. She also checked in with me on a weekly basis to make sure that I was doing ok and to make sure that the company was making me new dresses and making this right for me. I honestly don't think I would have been able to get through this all if it wasn't for Amy. She even set aside a ton of different dresses and sizes for my bridesmaids as back up just in case Portia and Scarlett didn't pull through for me. I have never met a manager of a store who was so caring and compassionate for their customer. She truly wanted to make sure I was happy and went above and beyond in everything she did for us. My mom ordered her mother of the bride dress from them, and I also ordered a few other dresses from them as well. I will never order from that brand directly again. Only through this store and Amy!! Thank you so much again Amy for everything you have done for us and thank you to The Dressing Room for being such an amazing store with an amazing team!! I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

Ordered my dress online with the help of Mary. She was very sweet and informative. I needed the dress a week before my event and she was able to get it to me within 3 days. Thank you for the wonderful customer service Mary!

Although I’ve purchased couple of gowns from the dressing room, my experience was definitely not it this time. Amy placed an order for my bridesmaids dresses and when I got the dresses, they were different shades That did not match at all and anyone could spot the difference, I let Amy know but she was not helpful and said sorry we are unable to do anything about it since it’s already on sale, she also told me that it happens sometimes but after I paid and got the dresses if she would’ve mentioned it before I would’ve never purchased. Now I have to go look for another bridesmaid dresses else where because the ones I paid for look Off next to each other since the color is not the same. I wasn’t expecting a refund but I just wanted my bridesmaids dresses to match and be the color that I choose in store. What a waste of time. Not the best customer service definitely do not recommend if you are shopping for your bridesmaid. Do not waste your money.
