Nice little convenient (mini-grocery) store located perfectly on Captiva Island. It’s clean and well lit. The staff were working diligently. They have a good selection of items one might need and an outlet liquor store too. They even have a sandwich shop / bakery. I bought (6) orange Gatorade for folks doing work at our condo complex.

The only caveat is that the metal door closing arm (at the top of the front door) extends greatly into the doorway opening, and if you’re tall, (I’m 6’8”) you will very likely catch your head on it. Use caution.

Otherwise….- nice little handy convenient store.

Good store with a lot of options. Not too expensive for being on the island. Would be nice if they were open later!

Just visited Captiva in Dec./Jan 2025. The Island Store survived Hurricane Ian and Milton. This store has a little bit of everything, both essential and non-essential. Huge selection of alcoholic beverages. Food, cleaning supplies, medical and First Aid, fresh muffins, small fishing section.

The most important items we purchased were items to fight No-See-Ums (biting bugs): Anti bite Spray, Calamine Lotion, Anti histamine Itch spray. Read up on these nasty pests Before you go. Bites are prevent able.

Friendly, helpful staff. Prices are high but the convenience is worth it.

My husband and I went shopping prior to our arrival on Captiva. Unfortunately, we forgot foil for grilling and needed more coffee to get us to the end of our stay. The prices are definitely dramatically increased because of being on the island. That said, we found what we needed along with a few other items. The guys running the store that evening were awesome! Down to earth, happy and able to answer any questions customers threw at them. Do your major grocery shopping before crossing the bridge to Sanibel/Captiva but if you or your significant other forgot an item or two you are pretty sure to find what you need at the Island Store. PS...Queenie's Ice Cream is no longer available following Hurricane Ian per store employee 😢.

Great location!

Edit: Nice updated building and all around better place since Bailey's took over. I only hope they put the Coke bottle caps back on the front.

Needed some beers for the beach, and they had a wide selection of local craft beers and canned domestics. Nice people, too. A bit overpriced, but you can expect that on an island. Cheers!

I was shocked at everything this little store could hold! Coming to Captiva, I anticipated having to go to Sanibel for any groceries we needed, but The Island Store had it all! Milk, eggs, coffee, creamer, bread, beer, wine, etc (even the gummy bears my daughter loves). They also had a sandwich shop, great produce, and some prepared items. Also cute items for a gift or a token of paradise that is Captiva.
