The Rain Barrel is our absolute favorite shop in Ketchikan! Always a great selection of high quality, often one of a kind items created by Alaskan artists! The owners (Jesus & Wendy), along with their staff, make you feel like one of the family! Can't wait to visit them again in the spring!

Excellent selection of authentic souvenirs and beautiful hand carved items. The best store we entered in Alaska! The owners are great people, too. You won’t be disappointed by stopping here and supporting their shop.

I bought a beautiful pair of earrings at the rain barrel while I was on an Alaska cruise. The staff is so friendly and helpful. One of the mammoth tusk stones fell out. I contacted them and they asked if I could send the earrings back. 10 days later I just received the replacement pair and $6 cash to cover my postage. This is the most impressive customer service I have ever seen. I would recommend every cruise passenger go there and buy one of their unique items. Thank you Rain Barrel!!

This review is solely based on my purchase of a collectible hand carved Alaskan totem.

Owner was very friendly and told us a couple of stories about various items in the shop. It was obvious that he was pushing us towards more expensive items. Understandable if a bit dishonest.

Given the time he spent on us, I did not want to just thank him and leave. I should have done exactly that. I wanted a unique item and a totem souvenir but I did not want to blow a couple of thousand in the store. I settled on a beautifully painted 6 inch specimen priced at $325.

Later in shops in Juneau, I discovered that the collectible figurines are actually coming from a limited edition release by an Alaskan company originally priced at $95. Most stores were selling them for $120 or so. I got hoodwinked out of $200.

Great selection, great stories but do your research before you buy which can be said about anything during a cruise to be honest, on or off the ship.

Insanely incredible wood carvings, antler carvings, etc. Seems very local and authentic. Much Lower prices for carved caribou antlers than we already paid in a gift shop in Skagway.

Hand carved art from wood, soapstone, antlers and ivory. Priced right and they ship. Unbelievable talent! I could have spent hours looking around in awe.

What a delightful shop!

Filled with a lot of Alaska-made items, and locally run. Couldn't have a more friendly staff.

We were so glad we stopped in and found something meaningful to bring home.
