I was outside, gazing through the glass door, admiring the beautiful interior. As I appreciated the artistry, a man from the reception approached me and said, "You can't be here." I explained that I was simply enjoying the view and admiring the decor, but he kept insisting that I leave. I’m European and have been hiking in the US for a while, so my rough appearance and large backpack might have led him to assume I was homeless. Even if that were the case, this is no way to treat another human being. I’m deeply disappointed.

This is a great looking place, especially all the architectural detail. If time permits is worth to look at all the intricate detail of the artwork in the lobby. It shows how much good care and craftsmanship was used when they built this back in the day. It is a nice respite from the husle and buzzle downtown. Take a break and appreciate how "they don't make them like they used to."
