So, if it were just items from unclaimed bags that would be one thing. This place has so much low quality stuff from China with tags still on them that are priced high it’s crazy. The items advertised on the website are not available at the store as well. The cosmetics and jewelry are at full retail price. I just stocked up at Ulta and Sephora with their sales and I got better deals than here. It is a large, clean and busy store with a little cafe/coffee shop inside. The nice lady that cashed us out on the one item we bought said she doesn’t shop here, even with a 25% employee discount! We drove here from Chattanooga just to shop here. The PR team must be paid well because they sold us to make the drive. Not worth it for sure. If you happen to pass by, stop. If it’s a drive, hard pass.

We were very excited to make a stop here. I will say that we bought some cool items, however we were kind of disappointed. It was not as big as I thought it would be and there was not a whole lot of good deals. I looked in the fine goods section and they were very overpriced. We were also disappointed by the selection of luggage. I think if I could do it over again, I would skip this store. It was very overhyped online.

Pretty cool little spot. On one hand, the pricing is pretty good. They do not seem to gouge you on name brands but do seem to be a bit high on some items. Pretty wild to think about all these things are left in luggage and lost at some point during the travels. Some items in the store are worth thousands. I would hate to find something I lost here. lol

This was 2nd trip here. The amount of product seems to have overwhelmed this place. But everything is in good shape.
The bargain store part wasn't much.
It was extremely crowded and that's not fun either. But still a.great place to shop.

It's a hit or miss if you are seeking something specific. I have left here more than once empty handed. That makes a long drive home not happy.

Unclaimed Baggage is in Scottsboro, a very small town in Alabama, kinda out there next to nothing. Most of the town looks old, rundown and sad. Unclaimed Baggage Store is on top of their property and building, everything is very, very nice! ?

Be prepared to shop for hours, it's a big building and it's packed! Kinda set up like a goodwill and/or jewelry department store.

They have a little bit of everything, for men, women and children. The fine jewelry is in glass cases, no collectibles tho, boo.

There's WAY TOO MUCH CLOTHING here. PRICES are rather high for used stuff. Used mans long sleeve flannel, cheapest I found was $7. The one I liked used was $18. I didn't get it, it was used.

I use to love to get guady jewelry here for cheap, but that is no longer an option. Costume jewelry, even broken starts at $7.

The girls working said there are "special "discount days", but I have yet to experience it.

Bonuses ~

☆ Thirsty or Hungry? Yes, a small diner is inside the store. I love chicken salad, not a fan of it here tho, should have gotten the kids pizza, $8.

ATTENTION MEN ~ THERE IS NOTHING HERE FOR YOU UNLESS YOU LIKE SHOPPING/SORTING/SEARCHING THROUGHOUT ~ fair warning ... there's also nothing around town close to visit, best to visit the UB snack shop!
My husband would rather eat glass then come shop here with me.

I'm giving the score 3/5 because of the unfortunate high prices on used items.
Everyone who works here is absolutely so sweet!

If you happen to be in the northern part of Alabama you’d have to swing by this place. It’s pretty neat place to check out. Especially for all the bargain hunters is a must.

One Man’s Lost Luggage is Another’s Treasure (Sort Of)

Ever wondered where your lost luggage ends up when it decides to take a vacation without you? Well, pack your curiosity and head to Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro, Alabama, where lost bags and their contents find a new lease on life—and new owners.

This isn’t just a store; it’s the Ellis Island for wayward suitcases and their globe-trotting contents.

Unclaimed Baggage started out in 1970 when Doyle Owens bought 110 lost bags from a Trailways bus station in Washington, D.C., and decided to sell the contents. Little did he know, he was onto something big. Fast forward to today, and this place has turned into a 40,000 square foot mecca for bargain (kinda) hunters, curiosity seekers, and stories of travels gone awry.

Walking into Unclaimed Baggage, you might expect a Willy Wonka’s factory of lost items, each suitcase ready to spill its secrets. But lower those expectations—it’s more like an upscale thrift store than a treasure trove. Think of it as the place where items go when they’ve been ghosted by their owners.

The prices? Well, they aren’t the dirt-cheap deals you might hope for. Electronics are about 30% off retail, which I guess honestly isn’t too shabby compared to the Russian roulette of eBay—remember, these gadgets were in the middle of binge-watching Netflix or navigating Google Maps before they mysteriously ended up here.

So, is Unclaimed Baggage worth the trip? Absolutely—for the sheer spectacle and the chance to own a piece of someone else’s travel mishaps.

But if you’re looking for the steal of the century, you might find yourself feeling a bit lost. Just like that half-pair of designer sunglasses waiting for its other half to come home.

Wow. What an event. What a treat! Worth the hour-and-a-half drive from Murfreesboro for this bad boy. Find designer clothes, AirPods and gadgets, shoes and suits, books, and a museum for the men to peruse while the ladies keep shopping ?. For several decades, Unclaimed Baggage has bought the leftovers of baggage from trains, flights, and more. They buy by the suitcase and even the shipping container and then display in their store. The Unclaimed Baggage main building has huge children’s, women’s, jewelry, and gadget sections, with also a smaller but no less impressive men’s. See also the exotic foreign clothing and the fitness wear. The main building also features a Starbucks with a sandwich and panini shop. Drop off your bags at the side counter entrance and head over to the Bargain Basement, with prices, deals, and items you’d think of more in a traditional thrift store. From junk to treasures to everything in between, you’ll find what you never knew you wanted here at Unclaimed Baggage!
