This hotel offers a fantastic experience with a wide range of amenities to keep guests entertained and comfortable. The property itself is impressive, featuring multiple pools and hot tubs, with a lifeguard on duty who was exceptionally attentive, ensuring a safe and relaxing environment.
The hotel also boasts convenient dining options, including a Starbucks and a charming diner, perfect for grabbing a quick coffee or enjoying a sit-down meal. For entertainment, guests can enjoy a bowling alley, an arcade, and even a souvenir shop for memorable keepsakes. Adding a magical touch, different characters made appearances in the lobby, which was a delightful surprise.
Another major perk was the complimentary shuttle service to and from Universal Studios. It was always on time, making transportation stress-free and easy.
Checking in was a breeze, and the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. I also loved the convenience of checking out via text, such a thoughtful touch that made the process quick and hassle-free.
While the rooms were clean, they felt a bit dated. The headboard in my room was peeling, and although the hallways had been recently painted, the lingering paint smell was noticeable throughout my stay.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience was positive. The hotel may be on the pricier side, but with so many amenities and conveniences available on-site, it's well worth the cost for a fun and hassle-free stay.

Had an amazing 29th birthday here! My partner and I are FL Resident AP holders, and I decided to book 2 nights at Cabana Bay about a month out in advance.||This is my 2nd time staying here, and this time was in the Bayliner Tower, which I was excited about. The walk can be lengthy to get to the lobby and Garden Walk to the parks, but that is okay! If you are doing Volcano Bay, 10000% recommend staying in one of the towers, as you have your own private entrance to the park.||Madison at check-in provided world-class service. She even gave me a free birthday ice cream voucher and was all around a delight. ||The room was spacious, and had a view of Velocicoaster. The theming at this resort is top-notch (very charming) and it carries over well into the room. Beds were comfy. Lots of TV channels, as well.||We didn’t make use of the lazy river and/or pool(s), but Universal did a great job with the design and amenities. The Bayliner Diner is decent for a meal or a quick bite. The quality of the food is not stellar by any means, but it gets the job done (for a price). Really love walking to the parks or hopping on the water taxi at Sapphire Falls.||The only (minimal) critiques I have are that some wear-and-tear is showing in spots - a lot of signage could be cleaned and updated around the resort, and there is still some trash on the pathways leftover that I noticed from the previous day.||Overall - great! Would stay here again.

We stayed at the Starlight building exterior entry family suite pool view. It was perfect for the four of us. We prefer this side of the resort as it’s much quieter. Very clean and the resort has great amenities. It was convenient walking across the street to Sapphire Falls to ride the water taxi to the parks. Much better than the shuttle bus since water taxis have their own much smaller security area.

It's a wonderful stay. Everything is close to walk to. We had an interior room. While nothing special, it was a very nice room. Clean and comfortable beds. Easy shuttle service to City Walk. Bowling allies for some additional fun. Lots of food options in their main dining hall though wasn't the best quality at times. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will be 100% staying again. Keep in mind that the free refill cups only work at the resorts and not the parks. What you get for the price is easily worth every penny if not more.

The room was nice, but that was about it.
Starting at check in - it took over an hour to check in as there were only two people on desk (during spring break!). The service was sub par checking in, they didn’t apologize for the wait, didn’t tell give us any information about the resort.

The pool area was dirty - used towels on every chair with obviously no one using them, food spilled all over the pool deck attracting birds. They have floaties for sale at the lazy River for a ridiculous amount of money. We wish we would have known before hand to bring out own.

We bought tickets at the concierge for the park. Basically had to interrogate the staff for information about shuttles, times, etc…

I don’t expect much from the food, but it was even worse than I could have imagined. $9 for one slide of torn up soggy French toast.

For the price of this hotel I would have thought the service would be much better. Will NEVER stay at an Orlando resort again.

For convenience, stay here. For good value for the price, stay off site.

The hotel was nice, and super-convenient with the regular shuttles to Universal parks and early admission. The staff was also very friendly.

However, the resort is worn, and attention to detail is lacking. While our room overall was comfotable and decent, it's curtains were half off the rail, the toilet seat was very loose, the shower head was miserable, and for a family of four, there were only two washcloths when we checked in. In the restaurant, seats are worn and cracked, and molding, around them is falling off, faucets are loose in the public bathrooms. Also, don't expect to actually be able to check-in to your room at the 4pm check-in time.

So, if you're looking for convenience, this is a good choice. However, if you're looking for a better hotel at this price point, there are much better options outside of Universal studios.

I would have to say the 6 night stay was very positive in the most part.
Checkin wasn't too bad. 30 min wait on a Sunday afternoon. They had about 6 employees in the front desk. Parking for checkin was a hassle though.
Room was good enough. Clean and great view of Volcano bay and pools. Room wasn't too far from the diner/lobby. Building 5/Floor 7 for the win.
Personnel was very attentive via text messages for anything you needed which was nice.
Characters at the lobby was cool. They seem to be out in the afternoon around 4pm from the 2 times I was able to pass by.
Buses were great to and from the parks. Never really had to wait much for one.
You can do a light walk as well to sapphire falls for the water taxi which I did once and was nice.
Shower water pressure was terrible but really no other complaints.
Paying for parking is lame but oh well..would have paid more parking at Citywalk.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. My only complaint is the pricing at the diner, which was exorbitantly expensive for mediocre food. Would recommend food delivery or going to City Walk instead. The bus to City Walk was almost always ready to ride, I think we only had to wait one time for a few minutes. We got a $500 meal card for staying here, which made it worth it over the other cheaper resorts. You can definitely tell this resorts age, as the room feels like it's from the 2000s. Overall good experience and would stay again.
