The Venice Center, also known as the Historic KMI Building and more distantly in the past, known as the San Marco Hotel, is at the very center of the history of the City of Venice, dating back to the 1920s. Currently, it has a unique collection of boutique shops and a French bistro on the main level and private condominiums on the 2nd and 3rd levels. It's a "must see" for anyone vacationing in Venice.

We visited the Venice center around 11 AM on a Monday and it wasn’t very busy. There were a bunch of shops, boutiques, restaurants and a few ice cream parlors. By the time we finished lunch, the town was much more crowded. I don’t know how busy it would be at night as there doesn’t appear to be a lot to do after having dinner.

Site of Historical KMI Building. Downstairs KMI Exhibit. This is open to all free of charge during regular business hours of the building. It was very interesting to learn about the history of the San Marco Building and the area. The second and third floors are apartments. The first floor has salons, offices, galleries, and a French restaurant. If you are curious about the building and the area, this is very interesting to check out!

Venice Centre is a wonderful shopping area with vintage designs, modern amenities, and architecture of the past. There truly is something for everyone there, shopping, restaurants, real estate, green space, and lots of people watching.

It is very family friendly and safe. Just be safe crossing at the crosswalks. Most drivers are fine, but theree are always a few that aren't careful.

Loved walking up down the streets in Venice

Free parking space, very good area to walk around with your kids. Dozens of shops and plenty of restaurants to eat at also. Splash park, playground and plenty of benches make for a great time to spend together. Palm trees and Spanish Moss line the streets and make for a beautiful walk and drive.
