Orlando, FL. An older review mentioned coffee in the back but I didn’t see that today. They’ve changed ownership or updated the shop recently, it looks like. It’s a healthy small business, hurrah!

I love tomes, the fragrance of yellowed pages, from which emanates magic. A great bookstore has a fanciful air and Writer’s Block Bookstore has that. Of course the books are new, not yellowed, but they encourage budding readers to study words and illustrations without fear of blue light.

My friend found her favorite neuroscientist’s books, and I was drawn to the colorful children’s corner. The eccentric toys and book lovers’ playthings were in the back.

What a absolute dream of a book store!! Community book stores are far and inbetween these days and I can already see my wallet loosing weight inside this store.

Plenty of variety on titles, and the ability to purchase limited edition, and or signed copies! If you are a reader or want to start getting into it then this is a Must visit location. The staff also are extremely friendly and can offer all sorts of recommendations!

Lastly, best use of a security camera I have EVER seen!

Writers Block Bookstore in Winter Park, FL, has quickly become one of my favorite Indie Bookstores. It is an absolute treasure for book lovers! It provides a very welcoming and cozy atmosphere, has a wide selection of books, and they have book clubs and frequent author events that make it a haven for readers of all ages. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, always ready with great recommendations. If they don’t have something you are looking for in stock, they will order it promptly and provide free shipping to the store for you. From bestsellers to hidden gems and bookmarks to reading lights, this charming bookstore has it all. They also have converted their upstairs area into a children’s area which is great for my 8 year old.
Writers Block is a perfect spot to get lost in a good book!

I had been dying to visit this place for so long! It has two stories and is absolutely beautiful. There's an elevator but it's connected to other businesses and is kind of confusing. They have a calendar up with events as well as a book date table!

I came with a friend to look around and pick up two specific books. I found the fiction book I was looking for with no problem. The copy was even signed! The other one I happened to be looking for was a Bible and I couldn't find it anywhere and was too shy to ask. I don't think they sell any.

The customer service was ok. Didn't see anyway really around the store helping out. Just two seated at the front desk talking. Their conversation even lingered a little as we came to pay.

I have been shopping here since the opening of the original store and have loved to see how it has expanded and continues to grow. It was a much-needed addition to Central Florida. The book selection is incredibly diverse from local authors to national best sellers. There is a book there for everyone. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and the cafe is a nice addition to sip coffee, spend time writing and/or reading one of your new selections. I also appreciate all of the visiting authors and story time that they promote.

I went there for a Tabitha Brown book signing and the staff were very helpful. Nicely accommodating to elderly and children. The store should probably have had more of Tabitha's merchandise for sale but overall an awesome experience. Cute section of oven mitts w/ catchy sayings and nice selection of banned books.

I went to the Writer’s Block bookstore on 1/9, looking for a couple books and wanting to support a local/small business. The staff were very weird and one particular sales associate (she was wearing a Winnie the Pooh sweater) was really rude. No one asked if we needed help, even though there were 3 sales associates and only 5 customers (2 of which were children). When we went to check out the sales associate was so friendly with the woman checking out before us and then immediately switched when it came to helping us (we asked how she was doing and were very nice, but she wasn’t having it). I bought $70 worth of books and she didn’t even ask if we found everything we were looking for. As soon as the sale when through, she just put the receipt on the counter and turned to talk to the other woman working there. I had to reach across, towards her, to pick up my receipt. The selection of books isn’t even that great and the store looks kind empty of run down compared to when I visited a couple years ago.

The staff was super friendly and check on inventory for me of upcoming releases. I like that they have staff picks and a good assortment of genres for everyone. They also have a second location in downtown Winter Garden.
